Hohoe (V/R), April 27, GNA — Mr. Thomas Worlanyo Tsekpo, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Parliamentary Candidate (PC) for Hohoe, has initiated the reshaping of several inner roads within the Hohoe Constituency, signaling a commitment to improved infrastructure and accessibility.
The 10-kilometre road reshaping project includes critical routes such as:
- COCOBOD – Galikope
- Hohoe Zongo – Dayi Bridge
- By Fire Junction – Slaughter House
- HEPSS – Akpatanu
- Wli Dzogbega – Abledze
- Gbi-Wegbe – Gbi-Godenu
- Alavanyo Abehenease – Foyers de Charite
This initiative is part of Mr. Tsekpo’s development campaign agenda aimed at improving social amenities, including the provision of safe water, to benefit constituents.
Mr. Prosper Kumi, the Hohoe Constituency Secretary of the NDC, told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) that the road reshaping project is a significant gesture under Mr. Tsekpo’s agenda. The focus has been on inner roads located in hard-to-reach areas of the constituency, many of which had been neglected for years.
“Everybody has forgotten some of these roads that were and would be reshaped,” said Mr. Kumi.
The reshaping work aims to enable residents in these communities to access reliable transportation, enhancing trade, business activities, and overall mobility.
The project’s impact is already being felt in beneficiary communities. A farmer and resident of Akpatanu, Addi Ahorsu, shared how the poor state of roads had previously made it difficult to transport goods to town, especially during the rainy season.
“The bad road made it difficult in transporting goods to town, and during the rainy season, we either got transported halfway or had to pay extra fare,” Mr. Ahorsu said.
The newly reshaped roads are expected to provide relief for residents, reduce transportation costs, and enhance access to essential services.
The improved road infrastructure will foster local economic growth by facilitating easier movement of goods and services. Farmers and traders can now transport their produce and wares to markets without the added burden of poor road conditions. This development is also expected to create temporary jobs during the construction phase and improve access to schools and healthcare facilities.
Mr. Tsekpo has reiterated his dedication to ensuring the project’s sustainability. Plans are underway to extend these efforts to other neglected areas in the constituency, emphasizing the importance of infrastructure in driving Hohoe’s progress.
“This initiative is just the beginning of our vision to make Hohoe a hub of sustainable development,” Mr. Tsekpo added.
The reshaping of inner roads by Mr. Thomas Worlanyo Tsekpo demonstrates a proactive approach to addressing long-standing infrastructural challenges in Hohoe. With a clear vision and community involvement, this initiative promises to significantly enhance the lives of residents and set the constituency on a path to growth and prosperity
