NDC Candidate Thomas Tsekpo Files Nomination with Bold Development Vision

Hohoe (V/R), Sept. 13, GNA — Mr. Thomas Worlanyo Tsekpo, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Parliamentary Candidate (PC) for the Hohoe Constituency, has officially filed his nomination forms to contest the parliamentary seat in the upcoming elections. He pledged to focus on development and job creation as his top priorities if elected.

Addressing a crowd of enthusiastic supporters after filing his nomination, Mr. Tsekpo expressed gratitude for the overwhelming love and support shown by constituents.

“I am committed to serving you wholeheartedly. I will not abandon my duties when entrusted with them. The projects I have undertaken in the last year alone stand as a testament to my dedication, surpassing what the incumbent MP has achieved since 2020,” he said.

Mr. Tsekpo assured the people of Hohoe that he would be an accessible leader, always listening to their needs and fulfilling their expectations. He called on all constituents to unite, work hard, and bring more supporters on board to secure victory in the December 7 general elections.

Support from Key NDC Figures

Mr. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, the Member of Parliament for North Tongu, described the enthusiasm surrounding the nomination filing as a clear indication that reclaiming the Hohoe seat for the NDC was within reach.

“The joy and unity exhibited today show that victory is certain. However, we must avoid complacency and continue our efforts to bring the parliamentary seat back to the NDC,” he advised.

He urged party members to intensify their campaign efforts by visiting shops, churches, and homes to spread the party’s message and win more supporters.

Highlighting Mr. Tsekpo’s achievements, Mr. Ablakwa noted that the candidate’s developmental projects, including scholarships, road improvements, and educational infrastructure, demonstrated his commitment to the well-being of Hohoe residents. He encouraged constituents to rally behind such a dedicated leader.

Mr. James Gunu, Volta Regional Secretary of the NDC, raised concerns about the integrity of the voter register. He called on the Electoral Commission to ensure a credible register to guarantee free and fair elections in 2024.

Campaign Launch and Committee Inauguration

The NDC officially launched its campaign and inaugurated several committees to spearhead efforts in the Hohoe Constituency. The committees include the Central Campaign Team, Campaign Advisory Committee, Special Duties, Campus Connect/First-Time Voters, Transport Unions, and SMEs/Artisans Lead Committees.

Mr. Gunu, while inaugurating the committees, urged members to work diligently to reclaim the parliamentary seat. He emphasized that winning the seat was critical for implementing the NDC’s manifesto promises for the constituency.

Mr. Ablakwa highlighted key projects outlined in the recently launched NDC manifesto, including:

  • Elevating Hohoe to Metropolitan Status
  • Improving water supply
  • Completing the Fodome campus of the University of Health and Allied Sciences (UHAS)

He stressed that reclaiming the parliamentary seat would ensure the realization of these developmental projects.

Mr. Tsekpo promised to embark on ambitious projects such as irrigation farming, palm oil production, educational and infrastructural development, water supply, and market construction. He assured constituents that ongoing projects would be completed and new ones initiated to drive progress.

“Our Constituency manifesto is a social contract between the NDC and all five traditional areas in the constituency,” he stated.
